On October 4, 2014, we lost our close friend Ed Bashur. We will never forget, nor can anyone replace Ed. He was a unique character, who brought smiles to any gathering and to so many. As a photog, Ed could make a rock smile. His love for people, amateur radio, photography, aviation and aerospace was profound. Everyone saw that and responded to him like magic. In the beginning Ed and I rattled our antlers. That was fun. But we soon realized that we were peas-in-a-pod. Hence, providing the basis for our long-lasting friendship. It gave me great pleasure to bring Ed into ASG, and to invite him to the International Council of Airshows ("ICAS") convention. I knew how much he would enjoy it. And boy did he. He loved it. At ICAS, Ed met the entire airshow industry, quickly made new friends and met many of his own heroes; performers, astronauts, aerospace, aviation legends and pioneers. Ed was a kid in a candy store. Back home, Ed loved his family and grand kids the most. But also made time for amateur radio, anything high tech, and he volunteered decades of service to the Civil Air Patrol. His presence always made a lasting impression. The airshow, aviation, CAP and amateur radio communities miss him deeply. Ed, we love you and you will always be with us........ It was my honor to have known and called Ed my friend, I'm dedicating my Aviation Galleries to him! Blue Skies my friend.!
Note: Ed seen here presenting me with a Sun Bowl game ball singed by all of the Golden Knights.
